Lot 56 of 370: An Indian painting of the Qutub Minar, opaque watercolour on paper, 19th Century, 37.5cm high x 24cm wide Notes: the building was commissioned by Qutb Ud Din Aibak, the first Muslim Sultan of Delhi, and was completed by his successor Iltumish. The tower was used as a minaret from where the call to prayers could be issued.
