Lot 44 of 708: A very rare Chinese inlaid bone belt hook, Eastern Zhou/Warring States period, the long arched shaft incised with geometric designs and inlaid with red agate terminating with a dragon's head, 16cm long Provenance: Ben Janssens Oriental Art, London, 2003 Note: Typically, early Chinese garment hooks were made from bronze or hardstone, making the present hook an extremely rare example. A similar bone belthook is in the collection of the Field Museum, Chicago and was included in the O.C.S. exhibit
